Ongoing GoFundMe(rnie) Sunday 10/01/17 Update

My mom’s name is Marilyn, but her nickname has been ‘Mernie’ since she was a child, long before she met my Dad at the tender age of 16. For those who knew my parents, this may come as a surprise, because most people thought her nickname was derived from Dad’s name. For those who don’t know my folks, my father’s name was Ernest and his nickname was Ernie . . .

At her long term care facility, Rancho Vista Retirement Community, in Vista, CA everyone knows my mom as Marilyn, and it says Marilyn on her door, because that’s what’s on her birth certificate. For me, I keep wondering who they are talking about.

These are our problems these days, remembering that my mother’s name is actually Marilyn. Such a huge improvement over our scary problems of rapid weight loss, overall weakening and loss of stability in standing & walking, etc., before she moved to care. Although her medical condition has not changed, the move to assisted living has stemmed the rapid decline and she has not gotten worse. Praise God!

Your donations so far to the GoFundMe(rnie) have made this possible and we thank God for you and for his goodness in making this time of safety and comfort in my mother’s living situation a reality. Your continued donations are needed to keep this blessing possible. Also, continuing to regularly share this ongoing campaign is a huge help and we thank you for sharing too!

Visitors are welcome! Just remember, when you ask at the front desk, that the facility thinks her name is Marilyn … 😉

James 1: 26, 27

“Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” NIV
