Lavender’s blue, dilly dilly,
Lavender’s green
When you are King, dilly dilly,
I shall be Queen
Who told you so, dilly dilly,
Who told you so?
‘Twas my own heart, dilly dilly,
That told me so
Call up your friends, dilly, dilly
Set them to work
Some to the plough, dilly dilly,
Some to the fork
Some to the hay, dilly dilly,
Some to thresh corn
Whilst you and I, dilly dilly,
Keep ourselves warm
Lavender’s blue, dilly dilly,
Lavender’s green
When you are King, dilly dilly,
I shall be Queen
Who told you so, dilly dilly,
Who told you so?
‘Twas my own heart, dilly dilly,
That told me so.
My job at www.thelavenderfields.com has come to an end of sorts. I would be lying if I said I have not been weeping. This "job" of mine – teaching cooking with lavender and docenting busloads of tourists around the farm, has ended because the fields are no longer going to have retail business on the farm. The business going forward is Internet & wholesale only. Unless I am needed to demonstrate lavender foodstuffs at an off site event or if I become a Sales rep. for the company, I am out of work. I can not tell you how much I loved this job. Loved, loved, loved it. Hence the weeping.
Some things will go on; I will still be selling my self published "TLF Lavender Cookery" booklet. Visit my website www.edgehillherbfarm.com if you want to purchase this compilation of all the recipes (and more) that I have taught and demonstrated at The Lavender Fields over the last 6 years.
Knowing that this day was fast approaching, I took some pictures recently and here, combined with some pictures from past years is proof positive of why I’m blue.
