Nine years ago today I lost my other half. It is hard to process that he has been gone that long. The half that is me has managed to move through the years without him but it has not been a smooth move. I thank God that I got to know him at all and love him and be loved by him for 25 years. I miss him so much and thank him in my heart for all the gifts he gave me of home and family. Because of him I am a (great) Auntie and the love and support from my England family is epic! (Well, to me anyway) But that’s not all, my Richter family loved David deeply and still do- walking alongside me as I grieve. Although I am a widow, adult orphan, childless and an only (adult) child, which on paper sounds like I am isolated to the nth degree, I am not! I am surround by the most amazing extended family and friends. It’s humbling to be so continually blessed. Yesterday I was honored to be the speaker for the @lajollagardenclub - my topic was an @internationalherbassociation Herb of the Year™️retrospective that focused on growing & using herbs both fresh and dried as well as sweet and savory. I told stories and served herbes de Provence devilled eggs and my famous herbal lemonade. It was a wonderful day! Thank you LJGC for the opportunity. Forget the Cat in the Hat - I give you the Cat in the (red) Chair, & see the weaving on the table? My mother made that as a small child when her Aunt taught her to weave. Isn’t it lovely? Her Aunt was quite the bohemian artist (my description not mom’s) and my mom never wove again, because I don’t think her Aunt was very complimentary of her work but mom was too nice to say so to me in so many words. #dailyshotofwhiskeykitty #memorylanemonday #edgehillherbfarm #bigsigh

@vistapetgroomery cleans very dirty big hairy dogs! It’s amazing what they can do! Derby was more the color of Devon before being groomed, he was so dirty. Now look! Snow white! It doesn’t last but that’s a dog’s life. Yesterday they were so good they earned beautiful new fall leashes.
