I took my SD Hort Book Club book (The Natures of John and William Bartram) and the new magazine that arrived in yesterday’s post to @archersarrowcoffee to read while having tea before church this morning and Guess What??? My “Eggs in One Carton” story was published inside the newest issue of @maryjanesfarm magazine! An article about Archer’s Arrow Coffee House was published in a local magazine too! So, we had a moment reading each other’s stuff! We went on a storm damage walkabout the property today. My dry creek is running! Last night’s massive hail dump has left snow-like drifts everywhere. The pups are not sure about all this weather. Yesterday we went to a huge strip mall with lots of empty stores just to walk around under the eaves where it was dry because there was no break in the rain at home. They used to have rain coats but no longer… 🤦🏼‍♀️ it did snow here about 9 years ago but it did not drift then in the way the hail has now. #vistacawinter #edgehillherbfarm #drycreekisworking #allhailtotheweather

I sell stuff on eBay every so often and right now I have listed unused vintage stamps; bicentennial, presidential, Apollo, Moon Landing, etc…and ephemera found in/or with my Grandmother’s Bible. In the 60s my Grandma wrote letters during her daily devotions so it makes sense that she kept her unused stamps in her Bible. She was a bookkeeper at a car dealership before becoming a bank teller in the 50s and this 1949 Chevy brochure has penciled-in prices for all the car models. The colors of the brochure are gorgeous and would look great framed as a poster. It was cold. I lit the fire. I pulled the wingback chair up close. I got a stool for my new book. The book is incredible! A copy of Jane Austen’s Persuasion by @chroniclebooks with actual written hand folded letters inserted throughout the text. Extraordinary! The sun was up so I could read easily and enjoy fully my new book. I went to the kitchen to make tea… came back to Whiskey Kitty making herself to home in my chair! Even Devon couldn’t move her.
