That face. Bet you’ve missed it . . . My life has changed so much in the last year and I no longer need to have my phone surgically implanted in my hand like it was in years past in order for me to care for my late mom. So, more and more, when Whiskey Kitty gives me iconic 😼 dirty looks these days - which she does almost hourly, I hardly ever have my phone with me to take a picture of her when she does. It’s been a lovely break lately from the phone and social media but I’ve missed you. I’m trying to find a balance with my new normal and settle into a comfortable routine with tech and posting. Sunrise in Julian, CA last week from my mountaintop rented cabin in the woods while I was on a solo writing retreat for a few days. The first night there I worked on my novel for the first time in 3 years! Also I read books just for pleasure, (hardcover not audio,) that were not related to any of my work, research or book clubs ~ just for me. It’s been a long time since I did any sewing or needlecrafts and I broke out my embroidery hoop on this trip (when the sun was all the way up and the light was good/better) to do something that I miss, stitching. No work was allowed. Turns out it’s a hard thing to shut off schedules and work cold turkey. Why is relaxing and recuperating so hard? Just when you start to get good at it the trip is over. . .
